My Background

My name is Daniel Oghale Ukiri. I am majoring in Environmental Design and minoring in Art Studio at the University at Buffalo (UB). I grew up in the city of Port Harcourt which is the largest city in Rivers State, Nigeria.

Ever since I was a child, I have always had a keen interest in art. It first started when I used to look at my older brother’s drawings when  I was about 4 years old. I remembered he always told me to wait until he was finished. Since then, I have continued drawing and it has developed from the love of drawing to the appreciation of buildings and design.

My slogan- "ART IS AN ADDICTION". What this means is art is dynamic and forever changing. It is all around us and comes in different forms. I try to explore different forms of art, sometimes my piece will have meaning, other times the goal is to evoke emotion or sometimes it may have no meaning at all. My work tends to come as graffiti or abstract and this has been shown in the creative experiments section.
